Baglio

Ancient architectural expression of the rural economy of Western Sicily.

The beam is the ancient architectural expression of the rural economy of Western Sicily. Its birth coincides with that sixteenth-seventeenth century phenomenon, which saw the colonization of vast areas, abandoned or uncultivated, by local nobles.
The Sicilian baglio was a large farm where the landowners lived, but also the peasants, who worked all year round or only seasonally. There were lodgings, stables and warehouses for crops.
Today the Baglio is the beating heart of our company, we do not live there but we keep inside the agricultural tools that allow us to work our lands with care and attention.
